INAPHASE successfully delivered the QANTAS Airside Tenancies upgrade at Sydney International Airport. The project improved the purpose and usage of areas to create open and vibrant amenities for the ground staff operating at ramp level. The project was completed in five stages involving multiple small and medium sized sites with the expedition of a large portion of works in a compressed eight weeks amongst a highly technical and challenging live and secure environment.
The project required adjustment of internal walls and services to realise the new layout in order to optimise the use of the tenancies for the changing requirements of QANTAS operations. The works involved after-hours demolition and noisy works, movement of materials at limited times to security requirements, security screening and management of site staff, concreting, external metal cladding, suspended ceiling and heavy duty partitioning, glazed walls, doors, tiling, toilet partitions, hydraulic and bathroom fixtures, metal lockers, workstations, joinery, furniture, appliances, vinyl, as well as carpet. New services included split system air-conditioning, fresh air ventilation, dry and wet fire protection, communications, data, MATV, Flight Information Displays, new sub board, lighting, power, as well as back to base emergency lights.
RPS Project Management Testimonial - ‘Despite setbacks and inconveniences imposed on the construction by stakeholders, end-users and authorities, INAPHASE were consistently able to navigate the issues to deliver successful outcomes. The quality of work is of a high standard and defects were limited. During the project, they were flexible in providing services over and above the scope to serve the project, client and local authority. Commendations to INAPHASE and their subcontractors for providing a high level of service and no-fuss approach. The project has been a great success for QANTAS and the response from all parties involved has been very positive’.
